In commemoration of the International Women’s Day celebration which is marked every year on the 8th of March, femininmaterz will bring you short stories of women young and old who are doing great things
Below is the story of a young doctor I interviewed who intends to also be a big-time farmer:
My name is Dr. Obadigie Josephine an Optometrist who also want to go into farming big time. Apart from farming I also have other businesses I want to do. I discovered that if you want to make an impact you need to earn more than a salary. You need to have multiple streams that will earn you income because if you really want to impact lives, you need money. And once you get this money it is not just to Can all you can but give back to the society.
One of the ways I want to impact lives is by giving scholarships to young ladies and young men especially those from an indigent background so that they can also achieve their dreams. I believe that once one person is able to achieve his or her dreams then he/she can go on to empower others.
They say if you a train a man you have simply trained a man but when you train a woman you have trained a nation.
I believe that when women are empowered that puts them on a platform to also help their children and others like her husband and even extended family members.
